Solving The Great "Seat Belt" Question
Is it seat belts or seatbelts?
In the USA seat belt is correct according to the Miriam dictionary while seatbelt is also used in slang form. Around aviation circles you see safety belts, shoulder harnesses and
most publications use the 2 word version as seat belt.
Hanna Chan an FAA history intern wrote this PDF on the history of the seat belt.1 In Europe the EASA writes seat belts in safety manuals and other official publications. Airlines tend to write using 2 words for seat belt. Buckle Up!
